This is the last of these one of a kind Telefunken PCC88 tubes. We have cleaned out our German source who got these from German military auction several years ago.  Stock up while supplies last. Highly unlikely that we will see these again!

PCC88/7DJ8 is pin compatible with 6DJ8/ECC88 except that it has 7V heater. Consult your amp/gear maker before trying these or post a question on Tubes Asylum.

MINT NOS PCC88 7DJ8 Telefunken Diamond Bottom with Bundeswehr Falcon Logo. Most pairs are from 68/48 batch and a few from 68/45 batch. Made in Germany. These tubes are factory tested and burned in and you will see very slight browning of the bottom glass. In generic white boxes from bulk. Picture above shows the front and side views. Chalky printing and Labels are very fragile as expected from tubes of that era. Handle with care.

Tested and closely matched on Top of the Line Calibrated Hickok 580 Lab Grade Tester. 65% = 7500 mmhos for 7DJ8/ECC88 on this tester. 

All tubes test above 11500 mmhos.

I ordered 6 of these for my c-j Premier 16LS2 preamp.  They arrived within a couple of days and they sound fantastic.  Clear, smooth, with perfect top to bottom balance and a nice sparkle to the sound without any edge or glare.  The soundstage is deep with well formed images.  I'm very pleased both with the tubes and with Tubemonger.  Thank you very much.

1st surprise: my order arrived in two days.
2nd surprise: the tubes were excellently packed for shipment.
Best surprise: although not yet completely burned in on my Minimax HDCD CD player, widen the soundstage, increase separation between instruments, significantly improve high end sustain, and reproduce bass in a razor neutral aspect.

Addendum 11/25/10: I now have 50+ hrs on these tubes. Blackness has increased, but soundstage appears to be deeper rather than wider. Vocals float forward with better timbre, instrument placement on some recordings is so good it's spooky. Bass, which at first seemed completely neutral, now offers great 'bloom', no 'boom'. Be warned! These tubes WILL reveal limitations in poorly recorded source material. If you want warm and fuzzy coloration, these aren't for you. If you want reference grade perfection, and your equipment can handle it, you will not be dissapointed, IMO.
