These one of a kind early 1960s Tungsram tubes with welded plates are obscure and the best example of Tungsram tubes. Typical physical differences between the 1950s-1960s Tungsrams v/s 1970s production:
- Etched ECC83 towards the top of the glass bottle in 1950s-1960s Tubes
- Some 1960s tubes have Caramel as well as Silver colored flashing.
- Non-corrosive Alloy Pins v/s Regular Pins
- Welded
Plates v/s Crimped Plates
Tungsram made some of the finer tubes in Eastern Europe due to its exposure to subsidiaries in Gt. Britain and Austria.
Industrial grade tubes were subject to rigorous test and burn in process. These tubes were produced in limited quantities (between 5000-10000 tubes according to Zeitmann from Hungary). Tungsram ECC83 tubes are well liked by many Audiophiles and Guitar folks.
