After spending $$$$ on tooling and various prototypes, we have fitted Special Grade Flying Leads tubes with Custom Bakelite Bases developed in-house. It is a multi-step, labor intensive process. Each lead is straightened and cleaned to ensure perfect fusion with the base pins in the soldering bath. Process is painstakingly slow, so we will be adding a few tubes at a time to the inventory.

Brand New, MINT NOS NIB Rare 1961 Mullard CV4035 M8214 Box Plate Wrinkle Glass Military production. Tubes have Dual Logos, Old Shield M8214 in front and CV4035 on the back. S.I.D, R.E.M.E Donnington stock.

CV4035/M8214 Flying Lead is a Premium Grade, High Reliability Long Life version of M8137/CV4004/ECC83/12AX7 valves (Click Here). All tubes from the same 1961 date/batch code AG0 H133* (H=square with a left diagonal line in center) from Mullard Whyteleafe plant. First revision of CV4035. Made in Gt. Britain.

*TC date code corresponds to the acceptance year of 1962, but the tubes are from 1961 production. Various stock dates on gummed ROAC and REME labels on boxes are from later dates and NOT the production date.

CV4035 M8214 premium grade version of the 1960s Box Plate M8137/CV4004 is one of the best from Mullard in the ECC83 types.

Tested and matched on Top of the Line Calibrated Hickok 580 Lab Grade Tester.

I've tried dozens of 12AX7 type tubes in my heavily modified Jolida JD-502BRC/B&W 683 and these Mullard CV4035 easily make my top three.  They have fast, accurate bass, a smooth, detailed treble and a touch of warmth in the mids.  A good all-arounder.

I also have a pair of the Brimar CV4035, which I think sound very similar, with less warmth and maybe a slightly airier treble.  The Brimar is perhaps a more transparent tube, but I think I prefer the sound of the Mullards.  One can favor one over the other depending on gear and personal preferences; both are nice tubes.  Compared to late '70s/early '80s versions of Mullard and Brimar boxed plate CV4004, these CV4035 have a lower noise floor and sound just slightly more refined.

About the only well known 12AX7 types I haven't tried are the Telefunken ECC803S and Gold Lions.  My favorites include the Tesla frame grid E83CC, RCA black plate 12AX7, Tungsram stapled plate ECC83, CBS 7729 and Amperex and Mullard short/long plate ECC83.

These are really nice tubes.  I was very happy with my Sylvania black plate 5751s...until I tried these.  I can't believe the difference in detail and dynamics with these tubes.  Somehow they manage to provide dynamics and inner detail without sounding sterile or analytical, all the while maintaining that fabulous midrange presence.  I bought a second pair for a rainy day.  Highly recommended.

These tubes perform so well in my Virtue M5001 class D monos that i decided to sell my primary monos amps (Lamm M1.2 ref. and use these class D monos from Virtue Audio as my primary power amps. These CV4035/M8214 tubes are that good. With the help of my Lamm LL2 Deluxe preamp which has the CV4109's and the CV4034 tubes from Tube Monger, my Hi-end system sings like no other audio gear that i have ever own and i have had many hi-end audio gear in the last tens years. These tubes is a must to complete your system and save all that money you have been spending on tube rolling. David Picarsic ..... Good Day!

I replace my RCA Command and RCA 5751 Triple Mica Black Plate with CV4035, and sounded much much clarity and low range is excellent.
I used them in my Tube Eq TL Audio Ivory 5013. It is quiet the same price of RCA Command. Thanks

I just replaced a nice pair of used 1968 Mullards with this pair.
I have to say these are considerably better.  I liked them so much I just purchased a second pair (for later).
They are sweet, have a wonderful soundstage and excellen bass.  There is a certain extra something I'm getting from all of my music.
Sort of expensive, but they're worth it.
